Heavy Lifting Parent & Caregiver Time
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and at the Slate Valley Museum, we believe that village starts with community.
Our new Heavy Lifting Parent & Caregiver Time meets once a month to provide a welcoming space for parents, guardians, and caregivers to connect, talk, and support one another through the challenges and joys of raising children, or maybe just enjoy some quiet time exploring the museum. Whether you are navigating difficult moments, celebrating small victories, or simply looking for understanding, connection, or a moment of quiet, this time exists so that no one feels like they are carrying the weight alone.
Children are welcome to attend, though caregivers may find it easier to fully participate if they are able to focus on the conversation.

Granville Class of 1986 40 Year Reunion
We have a date set for Saturday September 19, 2026 from Noon until 6:00PM .
The event is for 1986 graduates of Granville High School and their one guest only. ( due to space limitations at the legion.) This event will be donation based. Whatever you can afford will be acceptable. I will set up a way to pay soon. We ask that everyone bring a dish or refreshment to share. ( If you can commit to what dish you will be bringing that would be awesome, so everyone can see and we don’t have a ton of the same thing.) Donations will be for the cost of paper products, decorations, band any food etc. that wasn’t brought by someone. There will be a cash bar on site.
Please follow this page for updates and more information.
If anyone knows of a local band or DJ and wants to pitch in to pay, please contact me. Needs to happen soon, most decent bands book far in advance.
