Granville, New York Fishing Report: May 22, 2025
Report by Maxx Juckett
The Mettowee River is finally at a fishable level after last week’s rainstorms. The water temperature is 52° and the gauge in Middle Granville is reading 4.6 feet and a flow of 470 cfs.
The fishing has been great as the final of four stockings has been completed this week. There are plenty of stocked Brown and Rainbow Trout at the state access points between the village and North Granville.
That being said, the trout will spread out so walking past the main holes can pay off. Patterns I’ve found effective include Hare’s Ear (size16), Golden Stonefly (size 12), Mop Fly (size10) and an egg pattern (size12).
A few locations that have been producing well include between the bridges in the village, the access on Middleton Road in Middle Granville and the Dekalb Road access in Middle Granville.
